Rest of Clare
|
|
It would be very naughty indeed of me, to go on and on about how great West Clare is, without mentioning the rest of Clare, which is by no means less impressive. I'm going to mention but two of the sights situated in the rest of County Clare that should not be missed on your holiday in Ireland. The Burren That is how a soldier of old described it upon his first visit to the Burren. The Burren extends over more than
a hundred square miles and most of it is limestone, bare, pale and
grey. Tedious, yet spectacular. Besides that, the Burren is mountainous,
has a wonderful seashore and is scattered with the monuments Dolmen Recent conservation work ensures Poulnabrone's Dolmen survival for another 6000 years. There is plenty more, but I will leave that to your own sense of discovery. |
